Applus+ has been authorized by the Central Organization for Standard Quality Control (COSQC) in Iraq to supervise the testing, inspection and certification services of regulated products under the Pre-Shipment Compliance Certification (COC) program as an authorized third-party inspection agency, and to issue a Certificate of Compliance (CoC), starting January 1, 2024.
In order to protect the rights and interests of consumers and monitor the quality of imported products, the COSQC in Iraq has implemented a pre-shipment compliance certification program since 2011. The program requires all controlled imported products to comply with Iraqi national standards and technical regulations, and to provide a compliance certificate (CoC) during customs clearance, otherwise they will be charged a corresponding penalty.

According to Article 8 of Chapter 3 of Iraqi Law No. 54, COSQC implements a pre import inspection, testing, and certification program (ICIGI) to restrict the import of substandard, counterfeit, and inferior products into Iraq, and to protect domestic consumers, manufacturers, the environment, and public safety.
